Making a Killing in Cambodia

In case anybody out there thought some things were too sacred to privatize: The Cambodian government has privatized a mass grave in which thousands of Pol Pot’s 1.7 million victims were massacred. A 30-year deal has been signed with JC Royal, a Japanese firm, allowing the foreign company to create a memorial park on the site for which they will charge tourists admission fees.

Perhaps the same company would like to expand further into the “profit from genocide” sector and buy off Auschwitz, or maybe they’d like to sponsor Armenian Genocide Memorial Day this April 24th.

“JC Royal Genocide Memorial”… it has a nice ring to it, don’t you agree?
