
At eight in the morning tomorrow I’ll be jumping on one of the many buses leaving downtown Montreal for Montebello, QC, site of the “Security and Prosperity Partnership” summit and inevitable public demonstrations. I’ll be there with my camera equipment in tow, and should have photos online sometime tomorrow.
In the meanwhile, our good ole friend and corporate criminal extraordinaire Tom d’Aquino popped up in the press today, defending the secretive meetings between Harper, Bush, Calderon, and their favourite CEOs. According to Tom, the idea that corporations have any influence over these trilateral negotiations is “absurd”, an awfully rich allegation coming from the guy who heads the Canadian Council of Chief Executives, arguably the largest corporate lobbying group in the country. I guess Tom and our Minister of Int’l Trade David Emerson (pictured together above) are no more than estranged high school sweethearts, long lost lovers catching up on each others personal lives.
