At eight in the morning tomorrow I’ll be jumping on one of the many buses leaving downtown Montreal for Montebello, QC, site of the “Security and Prosperity Partnership” summit and inevitable public demonstrations. Montreal, Quebec: A young boy helps carry a giant Lebanese flag in a massive demonstration Sunday against Israel’s occupation of Lebanon. According to organizers, over 60,000 Montrealers showed up to protest the war and oppose the Canadian government’s support of Israeli aggression.

In the wake of the media’s contemptuous portrayal of Canadians with dual citizenship — make that non-white Canadians with dual citienship — as mooches and hustlers, CBC.ca commentator Madelaine Drohan has penned a sound response to what she calls these “parochial and uninformed” opinions:
