At eight in the morning tomorrow I’ll be jumping on one of the many buses leaving downtown Montreal for Montebello, QC, site of the “Security and Prosperity Partnership” summit and inevitable public demonstrations. A banner appropriates the Quebecois slogan Je Me Souviens (’I remember’) at the August 6 anti-war rally in Montreal.
In attempting to justify its offensive on Lebanon, Israel argues that it must destroy Hezbollah in order to stop rockets from raining down on its citizens. A resonable rationale, if its premises were true.

Montreal, Quebec: A young boy helps carry a giant Lebanese flag in a massive demonstration Sunday against Israel’s occupation of Lebanon. According to organizers, over 60,000 Montrealers showed up to protest the war and oppose the Canadian government’s support of Israeli aggression.
