Projects
Saskatchewan Jazz Festival
By day I’m the Marketing Director for the Saskatchewan Jazz Festival, a cultural celebration that draws 60,000 music fans to the riverbank auditoriums, theatres and clubs of Saskatoon every summer.
Art Threat
I’m the founder and editor of Art Threat, a web publication devoted to political art and cultural policy. We write about art that seeks to interpret, influence, or reflect upon society, and discuss policy as it pertains to culture. You can find it at artthreat.net.
Misak’s Genocide Memoirs
During the Armenian genocide, my great-grandfather, Misak Seferian, escaped the death caravans and fought in the Armenian-Turkish wars before migrating to Toronto in the 1920s. Once settled, he penned over 700 pages describing his experiences. I’m now working with my grandmother, artist Perouz Seferian, to edit the translated text and search for an interested published.
The Broadway Theatre
I recently joined the board of the Broadway Theatre, an independent art house cinema and community arts centre in Saskatoon.
Saskatoon Arts Marketing Meetup
I’m in the early stages or organizing a monthly meetup for arts marketers in Saskatoon, having been inspired by attending the National Arts Marketing Project Conference in 2009. If you’re in Saskatoon and want to join the group for casual discussions on communications, please get in touch.
